Important Dates for 85th Texas Legislative Session - 2017
Nov. 14, 2016 - Pre-filling of bills starts
January 10, 2017  - 85th Legislature convenes
March 10, 2017 - Last day to file a bill  
May 29, 2017 - Last Day (sine die)
June 18, 2017 - Last Day Governor can sign or veto bills passed during regular session
August 28, 2017 - Date that bills without specific effective dates, other than bills with immediate effect, become law
